  • The Ralph Freud Playhouse 225 Charles E Young Dr N Los Angeles, CA 90095 USA (map)

Follow the further adventures of Figaro as he finally is outfoxed—in more ways than one—by the women in his life!

Opera UCLA, the UCLA Department of Theater and the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music present the west coast premiere of Saverio Mercadante's The Two Figaros (I Due Figaro), unperformed between its 1835 premiere and a 2011 revival by Riccardo Muti. The libretto, by Felice Romani, is based on a comedy by Honoré-Antoine Richaud-Martelly (an unauthorized sequel to the Beaumarchais plays), which picks up the story a generation after the events of The Marriage of Figaro. This production, featuring the UCLA Philharmonia, will be conducted by Joseph Colaneri and directed by Peter Kazaras.

Julia Metzler sings the role of Countess Almaviva.
