Pathopaeia – Music of 17th Century Vienna

Sunday, May 18, 2025, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Brass, strings, and singers come together for a program alternating large and intimate works by Giovanni Valentini, Antonio Bertali, Giovanni Felice Sances, and Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, the four composers who held the title of Kapellmeister in Vienna between 1626 and 1680, a time and place of immense musical change that featured a fascination with the fantastical as well as the sublime. Also woven into the program are works by composers in Salzburg, with virtuosic chamber music by Heinrich Biber and glorious choral works by Johann Stadlmayr.

Tickets: $50/$35/$25/$20.

Free admission for children (under 18) and members of All Saints’ Music Guild.
